Individual Psychotherapy
We provide evidence-based treatment to adults with a range of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and trauma-related concerns, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), low self-esteem, and difficulty managing emotions and life transitions. We primarily use Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These therapies focus on understanding and changing the way you talk to yourself, behave and approach difficult feelings. Your therapist may bring in other approaches when needed such as emotional regulation strategies and mindfulness-based techniques.
For individual psychotherapy, typically, your therapist will meet with you for an initial intake assessment to learn more about your history, strengths, and what’s bringing you to therapy. They work collaboratively with you to set realistic and meaningful treatment goals. Sessions are typically 50-60 minutes.

Couples Therapy
We provide therapy to couples with a range of concerns including communication problems, high conflict, infidelity and challenges with life transitions and value differences. We also provides Cognitive Behavioural Conjoint Therapy (CBCT) for PTSD to couples in which one partner experiences traumatic stress.
Our therapists work with couples across the adult lifespan and from diverse backgrounds, including married, co-habitating and separating couples. Our practices are 2SLGBTQ+ affirmative. Our approach to couples therapy is primarily cognitive, behavioural and emotion-focused. This means our therapists work with couples to understand their individual and relationship history, including strengths and challenges they face as a couple and individuals. We will work with couples to explore the way they interact with each other to help them learn new ways of communicating and understanding each other. We aim to empower couples to change behaviours when needed, and importantly to work towards acceptance and emotional understanding where change is not possible.
